American Idol Top 5 Results: Skylar Laine Is Eliminated, Hollie Cavanagh in Bottom Two
Today’s results show treat will come from the vocal chords of the Coldplay guys and one of the most successfully and visible Idol alums, Carrie Underwood!
Joshua Ledet is up first and is quickly told that he’s safe. No surprise there!
Coldplay then performs “Paradise” to show everybody how it’s done.
Next up are Hollie Cavanagh and Phillip Philips. Phillip is obviously safe (remember the key demographic that actually votes is majority teenage girls … or at least I’m assuming it is). And taking over Elise Testone’s vacation home so cleverly coined by Jimmy Iovine, Hollie is in the bottom two.
Carrie Underwood then belts out “Blown Away.” She looks doll-perfect as usual.
Skylar Laine and Jessica Sanchez. The former is in the bottom two and Beyonce’s #1 fan, Jessica, is safe!
Coldplay performs a very sequined “Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall” before Skylar and Hollie discover their fates.
Joshua Ledet looks genuinely upset. His BFF Hollie, after all, is on the verge of leaving. Jessica and Phillip appear upset but more like an obligatory upset. IfyaknowwhatImean.
Skylar has been eliminated tonight. (I’m a bit surprised, are you?)
