American Idol Results: Hollie Cavanagh Eliminated, Jennifer Lopez Dances with Caspar Smart
Of Joshua Ledet’s “You Raise Me Up” performance, Jimmy Iovine says it didn’t work because his gospel version did not work with the song. However, Jimmy thinks his second performance was magical and captivating. He was impressed by Joshua’s singing technique that sounds like he’s singing in tongue which he’s only heard Prince do before. Josh calls this “The Phillip.”
Jimmy Iovine thinks Jessica shouldn’t have impersonated an old blues singer (Etta James in this case). He thinks she’s using the “trick” of impersonation way too often and it’s getting old. Of her Dreamgirls song, he says it was “shock and awe.”
On on a side note, Jimmy says he was sure Scottie McCreery would win all along last season but he has no idea this time around.
JLo performs her new single, “Dance Again,” to perform her summer tour with Enrique Iglesias. Her half-naked beau Caspar Smart is on stage with her most of the time. After the performance, he brushes the glitter/confetti off her hair and she says, “He’s so cute.”
Now back to the results. Ryan Seacrest announces first that Jessica Sanchez is safe. The next safe contestant is Joshua Ledet. Phillip Phillips is safe, too.
