Bobby Brown Debuts New Song About Whitney, Admits He “Messed Up Pretty Bad” (VIDEO)
Bobby Brown’s got a song in his heart – and it’s about his late ex-wife, Whitney Houston. On Wednesday, Bobby took to the stage on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno to perform his new single, ‘Don’t Let Me Die’.
In the song, Bobby expresses regrets he has about his marriage to Whitney, and reveals realizations he has had since the singer’s untimely death three months ago.
“I didn’t realize that every breath I took was from you/You were my air,” sings Brow. “I guess I (messed) up pretty bad/I didn’t know who you were/I didn’t know what we had …Now I’m stuck living in the past/Trying to get the pieces back/But I guess now you’re gone.”
The emotional singer also addresses his ex-wife, imploring her, “Don’t let me die”.
The pair were married from 1992 to 2007, and have one daughter. Their marriage was fraught with drama and drug abuse, with many claiming that Bobby was the reason that Whitney began using drugs. Houston battled her drug addictions for years, but she seemed set to make a comeback in the months leading up to her death. Unfortunately, her life was cut short when she drowned in a hotel bathtub, with cocaine use as a contributing factor in the death.
