Phillip Phillips & Jessica Sanchez — American Idol’s Remaining Finalists, The Voters Have Spoken
Although Joshua Ledet sang his heart out, garnering a standing oh from the American Idol judges, he couldn’t win over the voters, who sent him packing.
The fan favourites remain: Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez. Sanchez was spared earlier in the season when the judges used their veto card to save her from elimination.
The battle continues between the former pawn shop worker from Georgia, Phillip Phillips, and home-schooled high school student from California, Jessica Sanchez. 90 million viewers voted on Wednesday night after the trio performed.
Phillip Phillips impressed the judges with his passionate version of Bob Seger‘s We’ve Got Tonight, while Joshua Ledet’s performance of Mary J. Blige‘s No More Drama sent the internet abuzz. Many predicted that Ledet would join fan favourite, Phillip Phillips.
But alas, we shouldn’t count our chicks until they’re hatched. Phillips and Sanchez will be going head-to-head next week to determine who will be this year’s American Idol.
