Demi Moore is Back on the Big Screen – First Movie Since Her Break-Up & Breakdown (VIDEO)
It’s been a long time coming, but Demi Moore is finally back to work. The 49-year-old actress has been MIA since her break-up with husband, Ashton Kutcher.
Sources say that Demi will be playing a supporting role in the indie flick Very Good Girls by first-time director, Naomi Foner (Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal’s momma). This is a big step for Demi, who entered rehab two months after her November split from Ashton. Since then, Demi has been in the headlines looking distraught over Ashton’s new romances and her Twitter handle (of all things).
The actress sought help earlier this year for an eating disorder and addiction, which prevented her from playing Gloria Steinem in Lovelace, the porn biopic starring Amanda Seyfried. ”We got a call from [Moore's representative] on Tuesday morning and said, ‘There’s been a personal crisis and we need to let you know that,’” says Heidi Jo Markel, the film’s producer. “And we were clueless. We had no idea what it entailed. We just knew she was out, that there was probably a health concern, and to move on.’”
The role was taken up by Sarah Jessica Parker, and Demi was reported “devastated” about losing the part. But rest easy, Demi is taking another free-spirited role–This time playing a hippie mom to Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Fanning. The film is said to be an update to the 1980s coming-of-age movie Little Darlings. The two best friends make a pact to lose their virginity during their first summer after high school. Trouble ensues when they fall for the same boy, played by Star Trek‘s Anton Yelchin.
We’re just happy to see Demi back to work. Maybe she’ll pull a Britney and finally get her life back on track.
What do you think? Will you be checking out Demi’s new movie?
