Bachelorette Emily Maynard Sends Tony Home Because He Misses His Son and Cries Profusely
Emily and the group return from the picnic/interrogation/playing-with-children date to speak with Sean and Doug some more, as they were her friend’s favorites.
Sean explains that his parents are still madly in love. Doug tells Emily about his dad, who had epilepsy, and married a bad woman who ended up leaving. After his dad passed away, Doug and his siblings went from foster home to foster home. Emily cries.
It’s Tony’s turn to talk to Emily. He’s still missing his son. He describes his phone conversation and starts breaking up. Emily says it breaks her heart to see Tony so upset. After, Tony consults Doug, a clear sympathizer as he’s the other father in the group. Doug assures him that five year olds have attention spans of a bird. Tony calls his son again. He breaks down again.
Emily catches him in his breakdown moment and takes him aside to talk. Emily empathizes and reflects on her time on Brad’s season. He tells him she would never want to take him away from his son and lets him go.
Emily returns to the group and announces Tony’s departure, and gives the rose to Sean.
