The Bachelorette: Emily Maynard Shocked at Contestant’s Young Age, but Gives Him a Rose Anyway
Tonight’s episode begins with Emily’s mom serving her breakfast in bed. What a nice mama.
Emily will go on two individual dates and one group date. The first date is with Chris, the 25-year-old sales director who looks 35. The note says “Love is a steady climb.”
Emily reminds Chris that she thinks he’s cute. Seriously? Is he that good looking? It seems like she’s inflating his ego without substantial reason.
Emily says she’s going to make Chris work for his dinner. That’s when two ropes precariously slide down the side of the building they’re standing next to. They will have to climb up to get their dinner. Chris mentions that Emily can rock a harness.
It starts getting windy and Emily curses. Chris is probably comfortable since he’s from the Windy City. He doesn’t blink. Once they get up, Chris decides not to kiss her because it’s too early. So instead, he awkwardly stands in front of her giggling.
During dinner, Emily tells Chris she would be too nervous to approach him at a bar. C’mon! Chris then describes his first love as a young’un. He tells her he’s 25 and Emily’s jaw drops. Chris stumbles and stutters to confirm that he’s 25 but he’s a MAN. Emily gives him the rose and takes him dancing in front of a live band (and audience). He kisses her and said live audience applauds. Emily then says something about how she’s falling head over heels for Chris and hopes that it’s happily ever after. Already?
Meanwhile, lumber trader Tony calls his son because he misses him dearly.
A new date card comes in and lists a handful of new hopefuls for the group date.
