Who Wants to Read a Comic Book about ‘The Situation’?

Remember all that fuss about how the world is supposed to end in 2012? Well, I think we can safely chalk one up for the Mayans, because what I can only interpret as a sign of the end times has occurred: there is going to be a comic book starring Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino.

The series of comics, which will be published by Wizard World Inc., will star ‘The Situation’ as a superhero, along with appearances by his family. According to the press release, the comics will be written and illustrated by ‘some of the comic book industry’s leading artists and writers’.

In a statement released by John Macaluso, CEO of Wizard World, the comic company expresses its excitement about the project:

“Wizard World is so excited to partner with one of pop culture’s greatest stars—“

Okay, John. I’ve got to stop you for a second here. Are you sure you’re not thinking of someone else? Like, for example, basically any other celebrity, actor, singer, or model? Robert Pattinson? Justin Bieber?

No? Oh. Okay. Well, carry on.

“–Mike will broaden our relationships with celebrities to new areas that leverage our access to the media, the fans, and especially our ability to bring comic book characters to life.”

It’s difficult to say whether this situation is sad… or comic.
