Anne Hathaway Dreams a Dream in Les Miserables Trailer (VIDEO)
The first trailer for the film adaptation of one of the greatest novels of all time has been released, and it doesn’t disappoint. If this trailer is anything to go on, Les Misérables is definitely going to be one of the best films of the year.
The new teaser trailer is set to Anne Hathaway’s heartbreaking rendition of ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ (one of the musical’s best-known songs) and features a montage of action scenes as well as shots of Hathaway’s doomed Fantine as well as the film’s other characters.
Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper’s highly anticipated adaptation of Les Misérables is packed full of A-list stars, including Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean, Amanda Seyfried as Cosette, and Russell Crowe as Inspector Javert.
The film is an adaptation of the popular musical based on Victor Hugo’s 1862 novel of the same name. Set in 1800’s France with the June Rebellion as a backdrop, it follows the story of Jean Valjean, an ex-convict who assumes a new identity while on the run from police and becomes a wealthy factor owner and the mayor of a town. The story is much too long (the book exceeds 1400 pages!) to give a full synopsis here, but you can find one on Wikipedia.
The film is set to open on December 14th. Are you excited?
