‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ Trailer – Emma Watson and Logan Lerman Come of Age (VIDEO)
Nothing feels better than a youthful coming-of-age movie. Harry Potter‘s Emma Watson stars alongside Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller in the The Perks of Being a Wallflower. We got the first sneak peak at this weekend’s MTV Movie Awards.
Based on the critically acclaimed novel by Stephen Chbosky, the film tells a tale of the new kid Charlie (played by Lerman) who’s both sweet and tortured, finding his identity with the help of friends (Sam played by Watson and Patrick played by Miller), and that all-too-painful experience of high school, love, and loss.
Admittedly, I have a soft spot for these types of movies. No one loves the wide-eyed innocence of youth and all the accompanying angst more than yours truly. When Charlie tells Sam that “We accept the love we think we deserve,” I was sold. It’s also great to see Emma Watson in another promising film. I last saw the actress in My Weekend with Marilyn, and wondered what was next for her.
And from the brief clips of The Butterfly Effect‘s Logan Lerman playing the uber sensitive and highly self-aware teen, my heart ached for the many lost guys I’ve encountered.
Check out the trailer. The film opens on Sept 14.
