Taylor Swift ‘Humiliated’ John Mayer in New Track (VIDEO)

According to John Mayer, Taylor Swift’s new song, ‘Dear John’, is about him – and that hurts his feelings.

The two were romantically linked in 2009, though their relationship was never confirmed. It’s believed that Mayer was the one that broke it off.

So, what makes Mayer believe that the tune is about him? The tip-off is probably lyrics like, “Dear John/I see it all now that you’re gone/Don’t you think I was too young/To be messed with/The girl in the dress/Cried the whole way home/I should’ve known.”

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Mayer said, “It made me feel terrible. Because I didn’t deserve it. I’m pretty good at taking accountability now, and I never did anything to deserve that. It was a really lousy thing for her to do.”

The singer went on to explain that the thing that hurts the most about the lyrical diss is the fact that it seemingly came out of nowhere.

“I never got an email. I never got a phone call. I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I’d already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you’ve ever been, someone kicked you even lower?”

Taylor isn’t the first slighted star to pen a revenge song. She joins the ranks of Jack White, Justin Timberlake, and Alanis Morrissette, all of whom wrote hit songs about their breakups with other stars (Renee Zellweger, Britney Spears, and Dave Coulier, respectively).
