Ryan Gosling Shows Up for His Mom’s Graduation, Brings Girlfriend Eva Mendes (VIDEO)
Gah, so effing cute! Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes attended his momma’s graduation on Wednesday. The starstruck attendants at Brock University, Ontario, were overjoyed to say the least.
The couple sat at the back of the auditorium and when Ryan’s mom was called to receive her diploma, he jumped to his feet, clapping his hands and taking pictures.
A crowd of fans lined up outside the St. Catharines’ auditorium and Ryan and Eva were approached for interviews. Ryan, being the sweet man he is, smiled and politely said he wasn’t going take away from his mom’s special day.
“This is my mom’s day,” he said. Ryan left shortly after the ceremony followed by Eva. The two met in a room where graduates went after the event.
“He requested privacy for himself and his family,” said Kevin Cavanagh, a Brock University spokesperson. “He told me this was his mom’s day and the graduates’ day. He didn’t want to be a diversion.”
Nevertheless, awestruck fans waited by his car after he exited the gym’s side door. “He walked right by us,” said Erin Wyhoda, a Brock student. Her friends and her stood there enamored, not even snapping a picture.
“The social media phenomenon was remarkable,” Cavanagh added. Brock University was trending at the top 10 topics on Twitter. Even with all the attention, the ceremony went off without any problems.
“It wasn’t overshadowed by the presence of two of the hottest movie stars in the world,” reassured Cavanagh.
Congratulations to Ryan’s mom, Donna Gosling, who graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education!
