‘Game of Thrones’ Producers Apologize for Beheading George Bush

Members of the Republican party were less than pleased when it was revealed that a decapitated head on a stake that appeared on an episode of the show was created using a mask of George W. Bush.

On the DVD commentary for the show, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed the head’s origins and explained the reasoning behind it:

“It’s not a choice. It’s not a political statement. It’s just…we had to use what heads we had lying around,” they said. The two explained that because the show uses so many prosthetic body parts, they have to rent them in bulk. According to them, no one realised that the head was made of a George Bush mask until it was pointed out afterward.

Unfortunately, that wasn’t good enough for Brooklyn Republican party chairman Craig Eaton, who said, “Whether you like him or dislike him, whether you’re of the same political persuasion or not, we still have to respect the office of the presidency and all of those who hold that presidency.”

The producers of the HBO hit show have issued an apology in The Hollywood Reporter.

“We were deeply dismayed to see this and find it unacceptable, disrespectful and in very bad taste,” they said in a statement. “We made this clear to the executive producers of the series who apologized immediately for this inadvertent careless mistake. We are sorry this happened and will have it removed from any future DVD production.”
