Bachelorette: Arie Surreptitiously Sneaks Into Emily Maynard’s Room, She Surreptitoiusly Gives Him Secret Rose

The men are thrilled Ryan is gone. “If he was the next Bachelor, the bachelorette would be a mirror.” Good one, guys.

Arie recognizes this as an opportunity to “be there” for Emily and comes knocking on her door.

He says he wants to talk and ends up on her bed. “I find it so encouraging to know that you’re such a good judgment of character,” he consoles. He then goes on to tell her what a goof Ryan is. He asks her if he’s getting a rose this week. Emily gives Arie the rose that was (not) meant for Ryan, but tells him to hide it. This is her way of saying yes, you idiot you are indeed receiving a rose.

During the cocktail party, Emily is still hazy on who is and isn’t right for her. She tells the cameras that if she were to kick someone out it would be Doug or John, leaning toward John. He’s too guarded. They have a private chat and he shows her his grandparents’ funeral card… and begins crying.

Next up is Doug. Emily thinks the other relationships are moving along more quickly.  He awkwardly puts his arms around her waist but looks more like a mentor/coach/teacher than a lover. Emily says he is too humble and self-deprecating. Doug, with even less confidence if that’s even possible, weakly murmurs, “I think you should probably choose me.” He cries.
