The Bachelorette Emily Maynard Denies Ryan the Date Rose
During dinner, Ryan produces a list of 12 qualities that he’d like in his wife. Loyal, stands by his side, logical, an encourager, nurturer, confident, magnetic, loves to laugh, unselfish, beautiful, sexy personality, draws the attention of other people are some of them.
Emily tells Ryan she feels like she needs to be perfect around him all the time and does not want to fit in his mold. She says a loving family would be at the top of her list but it isn’t on his. She does not give him the rose.
“That is very shocking because I would not have seen this coming. I’m very, very surprised.” He tells her she didn’t give this enough time. He pushes back, calmly.
Emily cries.
Ryan continues to fight for his life on The Bachelorette. He transforms into a nice, genuinely hurt man. He reminds her of all the fun times they had. Emily says this is the first time she doesn’t know exactly why she’s sending someone home. And she doesn’t know if they’re just incompatible or if she’s insecure. Either way, she denies him the rose.
Ryan continues to push back. He showers her with compliments. Emily stays strong and does not renege her rejection.
Even as he hugs her good bye, he says “You’re making the wrong decision.”
