Woody Allen Gets Owned by Son in Sarcastic Tweet
Father’s Day is supposed to be a time to honor one’s father, to thank him for everything he’s done, and to buy him golf clubs. But when one’s father left one’s mother for one’s sister, the tables get turned, in the form of public humiliation on Twitter.
This cold, hard fact was recently learned by Woody Allen, whose son, Ronan, dished out a good jab on the social networking site over the weekend.
Sick burn.
The cutting tweet is referencing Woody’s relationship with wife Soon-Yi Previn, who was his step-daughter for a time. Soon-Yi is the adopted daughter of Mia Farrow, who dated Woody from 1980 until he left her in 1992 for Soon-Yi. Allen’s relationship with Soon-Yi ‘officially’ began a year earlier, when she was just 21 and he was 56.
Mia got in on it as well, retweeting her son’s tweet with the word ‘Boom’ added in front of it.
Woody never legally adopted Soon-Yi, and she has stated that she never saw him as a father figure, but still…pretty weird.
Ronan, Allen and Farrow’s biological son, never forgave his father for what he calls a “moral transgression”. He cut contact with Allen in 1992, and they have been estranged ever since. Ronan is now a Rhodes Scholar and a human-rights attorney.
