Katy Perry’s Final Chapter: Wide Awake (VIDEO)
Katy Perry debuts the final song from her Teenage Dream album. It’s been a rollercoaster ride for the pop superstar who first hit the scene with I Kissed a Girl. Way da make a splash in the music industry, Katy.
The California Gurls singer has come a long way from I Kissed a Girl, which had her minister parents worried about their livelihood. ”I was a little concerned, yeah, ’cause I thought my ministry after 30-something years is over,” Hudson said in the upcoming documentary, Katy Perry: Part of Me 3-D. “But, you know what? Never had a problem.”
Katy has gone on to become the first female to have five singles from one album in the top Billboard 200 charts with the release of Teenage Dream. She’s come a long way from her sheltered life singing choir at her dad’s church.
“The atmosphere I grew up in was 100 percent Christian,” Perry says in the upcoming movie. “I started singing in the church, I never really had another plan.”
We’re glad Katy continued in her singer songwriter ways, producing fun pop songs that even the most cynical and grumpy couldn’t help but love. The video is filled with as much symbolism as can be humanely packed into one four and a half minute clip. Its colors and styling grabs viewers, and reminds us that at one time we were utterly lost too.
With everything that’s gone on with Katy in the past four years, it’s nice to see that she’s still going strong with no end in sight.
Katy Perry: Part of Me 3-D hits theaters on July 5th.
