Mena Suvari’s Dress Defies Gravity (PHOTOS)
Everyone has that LBD. You know, the go-to little black dress that’s fit for any occasion, but Mena Suvari‘s LBD is definitely not a dress that can be recycled for future events.
How in the heck does this dress stay on, we wonder? It seems to defy gravity, covering the petite frame of the actress without any support. Or so it seems.
Mena donnes this Maria Lucia Hohan dress at the Beverly Hills Hotel’s 100th-anniversary party on Saturday. It had stylists scratching their heads. Was there an abundance of two-sided tape, they wondered.
The dress is designed by Taylor Jacobson, a styling assistant for The Rachel Zoo Project. The secret to the dress’ construction is not double-sided tape, but sheer nude panels that are wrapped around the actress’ sides. The panels are secured in the back with a brassiere-like design.
To see the dress in its natural habitat, check out the Maria Lucia Hohan site. The Jacobson creation retails at around $630 and had fashion lovers doing a standing oh.
Oh right, the 100th anniversary party was supporting the Motion Picture & Television Fund and the American Comedy Fund, but really, must photogs were wondering what was supporting Mena’s dress. Mystery solved, folks.
Added bonus: This well crafted dress avoided the heinous wardrobe malfunction that we see so often in celebritydom.
