Willow Smith Spotted With Tongue Ring – And She’s Just 11
Would you let your 11 year-old daughter get a tongue ring?
The internet is abuzz of a photo of Willow Smith, Will Smith’s 11 year-old daughter, sporting a tongue ring. Assuming it’s not Photoshopped (it would be a weird thing to Photoshop, right?), the pic is pretty disturbing. First, you have to be 18 years old to get a tongue piercing without parental consent. So – did Will and Jada let Willow pierce her tongue? Or did she find a sketchy place that was willing to break the law for a celeb kid?
I’m gonna guess Willow’s parents did NOT allow the piercing, given that Will told People earlier this year that Willow won’t be allowed to date for 30 more years. “When Willow does bring a boy home, I’m going to screen him and find out everything about him,” Will, 43, dished at the Men in Black III premiere. “And that’s going to happen when she’s 40, when she’s allowed to go on dates!”
Jada actually dished about her parenting philosophy at a recent Madagascar 3 event. “We are told that we can’t have ownership of ourselves until we’re 18. And then we’re pushed out into the world at 18 to figure out how to use that ownership versus helping our daughters understand how to have that ownership while they’re still in the house,” Jada explained. “So by the time they’re 18, they’ve got it. It’s also about knowing how to set up boundaries. I always tell Willow, as you get older you get more access to more freedom because you’re more knowledgeable.”
So did Jada give Willow the freedom to get her tongue pierced? We’ll have to keep looking for the full scoop.
