Drake and Chris Brown Offered $1 Million For Pay-Per-View Boxing Match
Two weeks after their alleged bar brawl in New York, Chris Brown and Drake have been offered $1 million each to fight in a pay-per-view celebrity boxing match. According to The Hollywood Reporter, celebrity Boxing promoter Damon Feldman said that Alki David, who has a soda fortune, has offered to front the cash to see Chris and Drake fight it out.
“Obviously they have a grudge. It’s just three 1-minute rounds. No one will get seriously hurt,” Feldman said.
The thing is, I’m not sure Drake and Chris actually DO have a grudge; both maintained they were simply in the crossfire as other people fought at club W.i.P, which is now in danger of being shut down. Neither Chris nor Drake has been charged with a crime, and Chris was even labeled as a “witness” and a “victim.”
I’m sure plenty of people WOULD like to see this brawl, but it’s A TERRIBLE IDEA. Remember when Chris was arrested for assaulting Rihanna in 2009? Should we really be ENCOURAGING him to fight? Also, Chris remains on probation – and while he’s been making “great strides” by cooperating with officers, completing community service and undergoing drug tests, he’s only about halfway through his five years of probation. He’s got another hearing scheduled for July 10 – and I doubt the judge will want to hear that he’s getting paid a million bucks to fight other celebs.
I get the feeling that Drake wouldn’t be up for it, anyway…though he HAS tweeted about boxing recently.
Would you watch a pay-per-view boxing match between Drake and Chris Brown?
