Spice Girls Reunite to Promote Girl Power Musical

The Spice Girls are back! Scary, Sporty, Posh, Baby, and Ginger met up to announce the dets of a girl power musical. The fab fivesome are stoked about the Spice Girls musical Viva Forever that will feature their mega hits.

Victoria “Posh” Beckham, 38, Geri “Ginger” Halliwell, 39, Emma “Baby” Bunton, 36, Melanie “Scary” Brown, 37, and Melanie “Sporty” Chisholm, 38, reunited at the St. Pancras Hotel in London where they filmed their Wannabe video in 1996.

It’s been four years since their 2007-2008 reunion tour, and it’s great to see them back together to promote the Spice Girls musical. Viva Forever follows four friends who make it big on a reality talent show. The musical is produced by Judy Craymer, who brought us the Broadway classic Mamma Mia, and written by Absolutely Fabulous co-creator Jennifer Saunders.

What do the ladies think about the new musical?

“It’s better than we could ever have imagined,” said Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice).

“They sing it better than us,” laughs Melanie Brown, (Scary Spice).

The girl band’s 90′s hits made them iconic pop stars, selling 75 million records worldwide. The group split after Geri Halliwell (Ginger) left the group in 1998.

Now Viva Forever will “be introducing a whole generation to Girl Power,” says Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice).

The musical previews from Nov 27 and opens Dec 11 at Piccadilly Theatre, London.
