Believe it or Not, Old People Don’t Like Dubstep (VIDEO)

Here’s some news you’re not gonna believe: it turns out that old people, for the most part, don’t like dubstep.

As a rule, older folks tend not to understand or appreciate the music of younger generations (and vice versa). From big band-fans not understanding their children’s love of classic rock, to those classic rockers branding 90’s grunge as ‘noise’, members of older generations often seem to feel that the music of the youth is too ‘out there’ and lacking the elements that made ‘their’ music so great.

Dubstep, a relatively new genre of music, doesn’t appeal to everyone. With its aggressive, robotic-sounding beats and heavy drops, dubstep is seen by some as being ‘not music’. The Fine Bros decided to find out how the over-50 crowd feels about this somewhat controversial genre by playing them Skrillex tunes and documenting their reactions. The results are predictably hilarious.

The ‘elders’ watch a few music videos, answer questions about how they feel about dubstep and Skrillex, and even bust out some sweet dance moves that actually look pretty similar to what you might see in the club.

Here are a few of their reactions:

“Probably younger people would like it more, because older people could die maybe.”

“I’d rather my kid or grandkid listen to this than Justin Bieber or Britney Spears.”

“It’s not exactly Sinatra”

“It makes me feel like the future is now”

Check out the video, below!

Final note: while Skrillex obviously isn’t the only or best dubstep artist, he’s probably the best-known. Please don’t leave me angry comments, dubstep fans!
