Courtney Love Sued for ‘Despicable Conduct’

Apparently (and unsurprisingly), Courtney Love is a horrible boss rivaling the characters played by Jennifer Aniston and company in 2011’s Horrible Bosses.

We know this because Jessica LaBrie, who worked as a personal assistant to Love from June 2010 to July 2011, is suing the singer for wrongful termination, unpaid wages and making “unethical requests”.

What are these ‘unethical requests’?, you may be wondering.

Well, apparently, Love ordered her assistant to hire a hacker and forge legal documents relating to businesses she owned or believed herself to own.

In her suit, LaBrie claims that Love owes her thousands of dollars, which she refused to pay up because Jessica would not participate in the “fraudulent, unlawful, and unethical acts” that Love asked of her. She claims that she regularly worked 60 hour weeks without overtime pay and was eventually fired (or possibly forced to resign) by Love for complaining about the unpaid wages and expenses.

Love also did not follow through on a promise to pay LaBrie’s tuition for Yale, did not pay any promised bonuses, and did not get LaBrie a job on the set of a Nirvana biopic as she promised to do.

Here is an actual quote from the suit: Courtney “acted with an improper and evil motive amounting to malice or despicable conduct.”

Evil. That’s harsh.
