Mariah Carey As the Next ‘Idol’ Judge?
Ms. Mariah Carey, herself, maybe be taking the American Idol judge’s spot. Rumors are swirling that Mimi is in negotiations with the talent competition.
Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler announced their departure from Idol after two seasons on the show. Now there’s two vacant judges’ spot. This leaves Randy Jackson all alone on the judges’ panel.
It seems that Idol has been courting Mariah for some time, but to no avail. I mean, she is one of the best-selling artists of all time with more No. 1 hits than anyone can count (Well, so far 23, if the Interweb serves me right.)
If Mariah Carey joins Idol, this could be giving the show some huge star power. With Britney Spears joining X Factor, Idol‘s gotta keep the diva ball rollin.’ Idol’s last finale drew it’s lowest ratings since the show hit the airwaves 11 seasons ago.
