Lana Del Rey Models For H&M
Haters, time to mobilize: According to Buzzfeed, indie singer Lana Del Rey is the new face of H&M, and the first pics have been released.
In the photos, Lana (26) is sporting a retro, voluminous poof hairstyle, sparkly chandelier earrings, fuzzy salmon-colored sweater and matching salmon denim. Her dark makeup, pointy grey nails, hand tattoos and surly scowl give the sweet pastels a bit more edge. In fact, we’re getting vibes of Amy Winehouse here. Perhaps Lana is still angry that people were so mean about her SNL appearance?
H&M is no stranger to angry ads; you might remember the retailer’s Girl with the Dragon Tattoo collection… but if a shopper puts on the clothes that Lana is wearing, she’ll have to work pretty hard to look surly and not syrupy-sweet.
What do you think of the photos? Do they make you want to be an angry ’60s pinup girl? I think Lana’s gorgeous, but in the second photo, her head is tilted downward a bit too far, making her eyes look kind of evil and creepy. Where’s Tyra Banks when you need her? Smeyes, girl!
