Bachelorette: After the Final Rose: Arie Flew to Charlotte After Getting Dumped, Reveals Jef Is His Best Friend
Chris Harrison invites Emily out on stage. She gushes about her new fiance Jef: “More than anything, I could talk all day long about all the wonderful qualities he has. He makes me feel more confident in myself than I’ve ever felt. He inspires me to be better.”
She also says that her engagement ring means “nothing” to her because it’s about him – not the ring. She wouldn’t care if she had a piece of tape wrapped around her finger. Yeah, right?! Have you seen her mansion?!
She admits that she’s not very direct and doesn’t deal well during intense moments, and still has a lot of things to tell Arie. She says her stomach hurts because she’s so nervous about meeting him again.
Arie comes out looking quite dapper. He gives Emily a kiss on the cheek and a hug, something he did about three times during their breakup.
Arie says: “I still have nothing but love for you and I’m glad you’re happy. I was just surprised.” He continues to go on about how he was completely caught off guard. When he went back home, he didn’t know why she ended the relationship.
Emily says, “More than anything, I want you to know that I’m sorry… You’re everything that I looked for. I need to learn to be more direct. In the end, I had more confidence in what Jef and I had, and the way he made me feel.”
Arie says he wishes she broke up with him the way she broke up with Chris. He was also completely in the dark about her relationship with Jef, hence his shock.
Apparently, after Jef got home from Curacao, he was so heartbroken and flew to Charlotte to see Emily. He “wanted closure or a beginning.” By the time he got there, it didn’t feel right so he just called. He has a lot of respect for Ricki and Jef, who he reveals was his best friend on the show. Rather than meet her, he opted to leave his Bachelorette journal on her doorstep.
