Bachelorette After the Final Rose: Why Emily Took 10 Seconds to Say Yes to Jef’s Proposal
Chris Harrison asks Jef why he loves Emily and he goes on for a minute.
Here’s part of what he said:
“She’s the most amazing girl in the world. She’s so perfect for me. She’s so funny – I wish they showed more of that on the show. She’s such a good mom. She’s the most caring person ever. She’s gorgeous, she’s beautiful.”
Apparently, the newly engaged couple has been shipped off to secret locations every weekend to see each other covertly. Ricki has joined along for some of these excursions. They show photos of Jef and Ricki fishing and shooting arrows.
“[Ricki] is very quickly becoming my universe,” comments Jef.
On the engagement itself, Emily says, “I remember being so nervous, and not wanting to be the girl who gets married 15 times.”
Chris Harrison then shows the couple the video of their engagement, after complimenting Jef on his gift of articulation. Emily looks happy as she watches the video. Jef looks like he’s critiquing himself.
Emily tears up as she watches the proposal.
Chris asks Emily what took her so long to say yes. She responds, “It was such a blur. I didn’t want to be the girl who gets engaged a bunch of times but never gets married.”
Jef’s side of the story: “I never for one second thought she’d ever say no. I didn’t tell anybody I was going to propose. Nobody knew. I think while I was down on one knee I thought it was because she was so surprised.”
Emily adds, “I just wanted to take it all in.”
Hopefully, she’s more sure now.
