Fred Willard, Public Masturbator, Tweets Humorously About His Arrest
You know what sucks about being arrested for public masturbation? Having those two words become synonymous with your name. Fred Willard, however, seems to be taking a cue from George Michael, and making light of the situation.
The 72-year-old comedian was arrested on July 19 for lewd conduct in an XXX theatre. ”Wait til u hear my version; much more PG,” Willard tweeted on Monday morning. ”& my review, lousy film, but theater would make a terrific racquetball court. Full story 2 follow.”
At least he (sorta) admits that he had a ‘hand’ in his own undoing. (Sorry. Couldn’t help it.)
As reported last week, Willard was fired from PBS’s Market Warriors, a spinoff of Antiques Roadshow, but he’s still promoting a show that he WASN’T fired from. ”I was not fired from TUWYL,” he writes, “so B sure 2 watch.” ABC’s Trust Us with Your Life is an improv comedy show hosted by Willard.
It’s still up in the air whether or not Willard will be charged.
“Our belief is that Fred did nothing in any violation of any law,” stated his lawyer. “We will be working vigorously to clear his name in this matter.”
Until then, we await Willard’s forthcoming film review.
