Katie Holmes Did New C Magazine Interview and Photo Spread Days Before Split
Katie Holmes’s C Magazine interview and photo spread were conducted just days before she split from husband Tom Cruise – but you’d never know it. She looks completely calm and composed in the photos, which feature her in a black leather blazer (and absurd hat), tiered purple cocktail dress, and a basic white button-up shirt (the last one is my fave). On the cover, she rocks a slinky black long-sleeved dress.
The Daily Mail reports that senior editor Kelsey McKinnon, who interviewed Katie for the mag’s September 2012 issue, said that when she went back and listened to the tapes, a few clues about Katie’s then-secret divorce plans emerged. “Holmes was certainly very aware of herself, laying a couple cards on the table but never showing her whole hand,” McKinnon says. “Most noticeably, the one name decisively absent from her lexicon: Tom Cruise. She never actually refers to him by name over pages and pages of transcription.”
Here’s the most interesting tidbit: when McKinnon asked if having Suri made her closer to her husband, Katie answered, “I don’t know. I mean…I don’t know. People have been having babies a long time.”
So… no!
Meanwhile, Katie continues her reinvention with a new role on Broadway: according to SF Gate, Katie will star in Theresa Rebeck’s “Dead Accounts,” a five-character comedy that will be directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien.
