Christian Bale Visits Victims of Aurora Shooting in Hospital (PHOTOS)

Yesterday, Christian Bale proved that he is as good of a guy as Batman is. Early yesterday morning, Bale and his wife Sibi Blazic flew out to Aurora, Colorado, to visit with victims of the massacre that killed twelve and wounded 58 at a midnight screening of Bale’s new film, The Dark Knight Rises.

He didn’t make any public statements of his intent before or during his visit, nor did he invite the paparazzi along – he just went. This is how you do it, celebrities.

Bale spent two and a half hours at the hospital where twenty people who were wounded during the shooting are being treated for their injuries. He personally spoke to seven of the wounded, posing for pictures with them and chatting with doctors and paramedics who were on-hand after the massacre.

Afterward, he and his wife brought flowers to a memorial that has been set up outside the theater where the shooting occurred.

A representative for Warner Bros. has stated that Bale was not in Aurora to represent the studio, but was there of his own volition.

Here is a picture of Bale posing with Carey Rottman, who was shot in the leg by gunman James Holmes. After being shot, Rottman posted the following Facebook status:

“Shot in the leg at Batman. Where is he when you need him. Please pray for everyone there.”
