Rosie O’Donnell Postpones Wedding to Michelle Rounds Who’s Diagnosed with Rare Tumors
Rosie O’Donnell and fiancée Michelle Rounds postponed their wedding due a scary diagnosis.
The 50-year-old comedian and Rounds were planning on getting hitched this summer, but Rounds had been experiencing months of unexplained pain. It was a “medical mystery” until Rounds was recently diagnosed with desmoid tumors–an extremely rare, cancer-like (but not cancerous) disease, according to Us Weekly.
Rosie notes in her blog that it was an ordeal getting the diagnosis. ”We wander thru the maze of medical mystery confused – scared . . .undiagnosed – again and again, her pain grew worse,” writes O’Donnell. “It seemed impossible no one knew what was wrong.”
Doctors then diagnosed Rounds with desmoid tumors which O’Donnell calls “odd and curious beasts . . . a non cancer that acts cancerous.”
The couple have delayed their wedding until next summer. Instead of the regular wedding gifts, the two have asked for donations to the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation.
“Good thoughts, wishes, prayers all welcomed,” wrote O’Donnell.
