Amy Winehouse’s Ex, Blake Fielder-Civil, in a Coma
Blake Fielder-Civil, ex-husband of the late Amy Winehouse, has been placed in a medically-induced coma.

The 30-year-old was allegedly found choking in bed by his girlfriend, Sarah Aspin. According to Aspin, the overdose caused him to swallow his tongue and suffer multiple organ failure, including a collapsed lung. It was likely caused by a combination of heroin and alcohol.
Fielder-Civil was rushed to hospital and has been placed in a medically-induced coma.
“The doctors say they don’t know the prognosis. They said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection,” explained Aspin. The couple met in rehab and have a 15-month-old son together.
Blake Fielder-Civil has been addicted to heroin for many years, but seemed to have been making some strides in rehab following the death of his ex-wife, Amy Winehouse. In a 2008 interview, Fielder-Civil copped to introducing Winehouse to heroin and crack cocaine.
Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse, expressed his feelings about the overdose on Twitter today, saying, “Terrible news about Blake this morning. Remember Amy loved him. Let’s pray for his recovery.”
Sad stuff. Hopefully Blake is able to pull through for the sake of his girlfriend and young son.
