‘Here Comes Honey Boo Boo’: Yes, yesss or No, nooo

The first thing I noticed was that Honey Boo Boo has a pet pig or she’s photographed with a pig. My thoughts: Dang her–Tiny pigs are adorable!

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is TLC’s latest abhorrence or guilty pleasure. Are we running out of things to watch or is this an indication of our current state of mind? This spin-off of Toddlers & Tiaras premiered last night, and stars 6-year-old beauty queen Alana Thompson.

Also a big part of the show is her family: her poppa Sugar Bear, her momma June, and her sissies Pumpkin, Chickadee, and Chubbs. Just a fun-lovin’ Red-necked family. Seriously, they went to the Redneck Games in the premiering episodes.

One thing’s for sure: There’s no middle ground here. You either love it or effing hate it.

Anti Honey Boo Booers say that the show is an “exploitative mess” and a “horror show,” while pro Honey Boo Booers proclaim that it’s “about seemingly dumb people who are in fact quite smart” and “charmingly self-aware.”

What does Honey Boo Boo’s momma have to say about all this chitter chatter? ”People are going to talk, good and bad, and it is what it is,” June told CNN. ”My family, we enjoy what we’ve done and I would do it again.”

“If people actually sit down and talk with me and my family or talk with Alana, you’ll see that Alana thoroughly enjoys doing what she does,” adds June, “and that we’re not ignorant people like everybody says.”

Whatever, I just want to know what Honey Boo Boo is doing with MY pig! Hmph!
