Kristen Stewart Won’t Be at the ‘On The Road’ Premiere…
It seems that Kristen Stewart won’t be attending the premiere of On The Road, according to Perez Hilton.
The premiere is slated for August 16, but apparently she’s too embarrassed and fragile to face the public and her co-star Tom Sturridge, who’s a close friend of Robert Pattinson.
This is unfortunate because the movie actually looks pretty good, and marks Kristen’s return to more serious films and a deviation from tween fantasy vampire romps. The film is an adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s “generation defining book” (as the trailer trumpets).
Well, as long as Garrett Hedlund is present (hello!), I think we’ll all be okay about it. Hedlund plays Dean Moriarty and Sam Riley plays the lead character Sal Paradise. I guess the premiere should be more about the film and less about the personal dramas of the actors, but art and life, right?
Many people are shocked by Kristen Stewart’s behavior, lamenting about her “totally self-destructive” actions. Others say “[Kristen] just can’t believe she f–ked this up and ruined everything.”
Call me cynical, but are we forgetting that Stewart is a 22-year-old, young woman? This will not the last cheating scandal to hit Hollywood. Yes, she messed up, but in our celebrity obsessed culture, let’s not forget that these people are, well, people.
I hope she comes to the premiere, but if not, that’s her choice.
