Joe Simpson Busted for DUI
Jessica Simpson has had a lot to deal with lately, with the birth of her first child and the stress that comes along with having a baby in the house, as well as the pressure she’s under to lose the weight she gained during pregnancy. Now, she’s got something else to deal with – her dad, Joe Simpson, was arrested for DUI last weekend.
Last Saturday, Jess’s 54-year-old ‘dadager’ was pulled over on Ventura Boulevard in Los Angeles. After talking with Simpson, officers felt that he seemed intoxicated and arrested him on site. Simpson spent a night in jail and was released the next morning without having to post bail.
The case has been sent to prosecutors, but it’s currently unknown whether Joe will be charged. Because this is his first offense, Joe will likely not receive jail time if charges are filed. However, he will likely face a large fine.
This news comes just after we heard that country singer Randy Travis was charged with DWI after crashing his car at an off-road construction site in Texas.
This is 2012! Do we really still need to be reminded not to drink and drive? Sheesh.
