President Obama Buys a Round of Beers at the Iowa State Fair
The POTUS swung by the Iowa State Fair last night – not to make a speech, but to grab a beer and enjoy some fair action. And to cement his status as ‘cool, relatable President’ by buying a round of beers for a bunch of fairgoers.
Obama stopped by the Mike’s Tavern beer tent at the fair and declared, “Bud Lights all around on me!”
He then reminded fairgoers that the offer was only valid for patrons 21 years and older.
“Four more beers!,” the happy people chanted. But, after looking in his wallet, the President realized that he couldn’t buy a round for everyone – but he did pay for ten beers.
He then got some pork chops on a stick with Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack, talked to some supporters, and was on his merry way.
One thing that we know the Prez definitely didn’t indulge in? The Iowa State Fair’s famous fried Twinkie.
“Michelle has told me I cannot have a fried Twinkie,” Obama said.
