Rihanna In Tears Over Chris Brown (VIDEO)
Rihanna sits down with Oprah and talks about Chris Brown. The Birthday Cake singer becomes emotional while discussing the notorious beating she received at the hands of Brown in 2009.
Rihanna reveals her frame of mind during the chaos that followed the domestic violence.
“It became a circus and I felt protective,” she tells Oprah. “I felt like the only person they hate right now is him. It was a weird, confusing space to be in because as angry as I was, as angry and hurt and betrayed, I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help.”
The 24-year-old singer felt like she “lost [her] best friend,” and was more concerned for his well-being. Brutual images of Rihanna’s battered and bruised faced surfaced immediately after Brown’s arrest.
Lest we forget, Chris Brown assaulted Rihanna the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards and was sentenced to one year’s probation with one year of domestic violence counselling and community service.
