Anchorman and Weather Lady Share Awkward On-Air Exchange (VIDEO)
At some point in their lives, everyone has experienced the shame of using a word incorrectly while trying to sound well-read or smart. If you’re lucky, a well-meaning friend will step in and gently inform you that “I literally died when she said she’d go out with me” isn’t the best choice of words.
Unfortunately, for one anchorman, his incorrect usage of a word occurred during a news segment, and his ‘well-meaning friend’ was a sarcastic weather lady.
The cringe-worthy exchange was set in motion when, in an earlier segment, an elderly woman could be heard using the word ‘canoodle’. The anchorman presumably liked the cute, innocent-sounding word, and decided he’d try it out for himself.
For those (like the anchorman) who don’t know, canoodle is an old-timey slang word that means, “to caress, fondle or pet amorously”.
