Prince Harry Naked Photos: Security Breach?

Many British papers have refrained from printing Prince Harry‘s naked photos, but it doesn’t take more than a click of a mouse to see the Prince in all his glory.

British media have been warned by the St. James’ Palace that publishing these photos of Harry would be an “unjustified intrusion” into his privacy. So far the Brits have been good on their word, and the photos have not been published from his home country.

Another question arises: Can Prince Harry’s babysitters, um, bodyguards be blamed for the leaked photos?

Dai Davies, a former head of the royal’s protection branch, says that Harry’s bodyguards should have kept a better eye on him, and that Prince Harry should not have take such unnecessary risks, especially from the public perspective.

Security costs for the royals isn’t public, but some estimate the cost to between 30 million to 100 million pounds (or $48 million to $159 million USD).

Bernard Hogan-Howe, Scotland Yard chief is more nonchalant about the mishap, saying that the Scotland Yard officers assigned to the 27-year-old Prince are there to protect Harry, not to “regulate his life.”

Davies would disagree with Hogan-Howe: ”The role of protection officer is to protect the principal,” he said. “Protect the principal from himself, on occasion.”

What do you think? Who’s to blame for the leaked photos?
