Liberty Ross Benefiting from Post-Scandal Publicity
As the saying goes, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Or, in the case of Liberty Ross, when life gives you a publicly cheating husband, use it to boost your career.
Before Liberty was married to philandering director Rupert Sanders, she was a successful model – far more famous and successful, in fact, than her then-unknown husband. The story goes that the beautiful model gave up her career in Britain and moved to Hollywood to support her husband’s dreams of being a big-shot director.
Then, he cheated on her with a much-younger co-star, got caught, and the rest is history – for him, anyway.
As it turns out, the public loves a ‘woman scorned’. With a Hollywood face, a few minor roles, and a very public sob story on her side, Liberty’s popularity has skyrocketed since the scandal. And with that has allegedly come a flood of acting offers.
“Although the cheating scandal caused a lot of unwanted attention in her private life, it certainly improved her profile as an actress,” a source told RadarOnline. “She has started to earn recognition for her performances in last year’s W.E. and this year’s Snow White and the Huntsman, and more movie directors have taken note of who she actually is.
“The scripts have been flooding in, and she has already received audition offers on the back of Rupert’s affair.”
If you believe the adage, ‘any publicity is good publicity’, everybody involved in this situation ‘won’. Kristen Stewart (who is a notoriously private person) got an opportunity to step out of the public eye, Liberty and Robert Pattinson won the sympathy of thousands and will likely enjoy career boosts because of it, and Rupert Sanders has become a household name.
If you’re at all interested in conspiracy theories, you might be inclined to believe that this was the plan all along.
