‘Modern Family’ Wants Ann Romney to Play a Gay Wedding Officiant
The potential first lady Ann Romney may have another calling as a thespian. When Modern Family creator Steve Levitan heard that Mitt Romney’s wife is a fan of the show, he handed her a tongue-in-cheek proposal.
“Thrilled Ann Romney says ModFam is her favorite show. We’ll offer her the role of officiant at Mitch & Cam’s wedding. As soon as it’s legal,” tweeted Levitan.

I’m not a rocket scientist, but methinks this is a not-so-subtle dig at Mitt Romney’s political views. Romney has voiced his opinions on same-sex marriage during his campaign trail: ”I have the same view on marriage that I had when I was governor. I believe marriage is a relationship between a man and a woman.”
Ann Romney had revealed her adoration of Modern Family during an Entertainment Tonight interview. Levitan’s tweet came the day before Ann’s speech at the Republic National Convention this Tuesday. During her address, Ann spoke about her love for husband Mitt, but we’re guessing Levitan does not return the sentiment.
Another guess: we won’t be seeing Ann as Mitch and Cam’s officiant. Maybe they can compromise and she can become their surrogate, or something?
