Clint Eastwood Talks to an Empty Chair, Viewers Post Their Own ‘Invisible Obamas’ (VIDEO)

Why chair, why?

Clint Eastwood spoke at the GOP convention on Thursday and showed his true acting skills…

At a moment during Eastwood’s ad lib speech, in which he praised the Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, Clint began talking to an empty chair…

I think they call that method acting.

Clint addressed the chair as if it were President Barack Obama. He voiced some of his concerns to the, er, President, slash, chair.

Clint: “So Mr. President, how do you handle promises you’ve made?”

Chair: Begrudging silence.

This prompted viewers and Twitter users to post their own empty chair photos, slash, invisible Obamas. #Eastwooding became an internet phenomenon by Friday morning.

A Twitter account called Invisible Obama now has almost 50,000 followers. “Quick. Turn on MSNBC. I’m going to be all over it right now,” tweeted @InvisibleObama. ”Well just my chair, unless u have invisible glasses. Or ur Clint Eastwood.”

President Obama tweeted the photo below with this remark, “This seat’s taken.”
