Amy Poehler and Will Arnett to Divorce
After nine years of marriage, Amy Poehler and Will Arnett have decided to call it quits. File this under ‘celebrity breakups we’re actually pretty bummed about’. They seemed so funny and cool and normal. Why, Hollywood; why?!
It seemed to be a match made in TV sitcom Heaven. Since their wedding in 2003, Arnett and Poehler have appeared in numerous shows and movies together, had two adorable boys together (2-year-old Abel is the most unusually huge and serious-looking toddler of all time), and generally seemed like a perfect fit. Alas, it was not meant to be.
Reps for both stars have confirmed the split to Us Weekly, simultaneously crushing the dreams of a nation that just wanted to believe that love is real. So far, the reason behind the divorce is not known.
A source spoke to the magazine about the split, calling it, “Very amicable.” So that’s one thing to be thankful for – although it does mean we’ll miss out on seeing Arnett try to get an annulment by convincing the judge that they never consummated the marriage.
Arnett was previously married to actress Penelope Ann Miller, a relationship that ended in 1995. This was Poehler’s first marriage.
