Prince Harry Threatened by Taliban
Things just keep getting worse for Prince Harry. First, it was the nude scandal. Then, he got shipped off to Afghanistan. Now, the 27-year-old royal has been threatened by the Taliban.
Prince Harry was deployed to the war-torn country just last week. The reason for his deployment is unclear – some say that his naked romp in Las Vegas was the result of the royal “blowing off steam” in anticipation of his deployment, while others speculate that being sent to Afghanistan was a punishment for his embarrassing actions.
Now that the Prince has arrived in Afghanistan, however, it seems that he may be in very real danger.
Taliban representative (yes, they have representatives) Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed to Reuters that the Prince is one of their prime targets.
“We are using all our strength to get rid of him, either by killing or kidnapping,” said Mujahid. “We have informed our commanders in Helmand to do whatever they can to eliminate him.”
Harry is currently deployed for four months as a co-pilot gunner at Camp Bastion, where he will be piloting Apache helicopters. He was previously deployed in 2008 as an on-ground air controller, but was brought back to Britain due to threats to his safety. So far, there is no word on whether he will be returning to Britain again.
