Sheryl Crow Thinks Brain Tumor was Caused by Cell Phone
Earlier this year, Sheryl Crow made the surprising revelation that she had a benign brain tumor. Now, the 50-year-old singer has come out with a theory about the origin of her tumor. Crow thinks that the tumor is cell phone-related
“There are no doctors that will confirm that,” said Crow in an interview with Katie Couric. “But I do have a theory that it’s possible that it’s related to that. I used to spend hours on the archaic old cell phones.
According to the American Cancer Society, studies on the effects of cell phone use on the brain are inconclusive as to whether using a cell phone can cause brain tumors. Crow claims that the reasoning behind her theory is that her tumor is located on a part of her brain that’s near where she used to hold her cell phone.
The singer and breast cancer survivor also revealed that it was memory loss that originally prompted her to seek a medical diagnosis. Originally, she was concerned that she may have early-onset Alzheimer’s disease, and was relieved when doctors told her that, in fact, she had a non-cancerous tumor that shouldn’t be cause for concern. Crow describes her tumor as “nothing I have to worry about”.
