Jael Strauss: Former ‘America’s Next Top Model’ Finalist is Now a Meth Addict (VIDEO)

Six years ago, Jael Strauss was competing on season eight of America’s Next Top Model. The beautiful, free-spirited brunette eventually secured sixth place in the modeling competition.

Now, she’s fighting an addiction to crystal meth – and she looks nearly unrecognizable.

During Jael’s time as a contestant on America’s Next Top Model, she struggled with the death of a friend due to an overdose. Her family is concerned that if she doesn’t get help soon, Jael may end up the same way.

The 28-year-old former model is an addict who is living on the streets, and in an effort to save her, her family reached out to Dr. Phil for an intervention. In this clip from the episode, Jael doesn’t seem to want to talk to the television host, when she runs out of the studio and into the parking lot.

Dr. Phil follows the former model outside, saying, “This is the first time in ten years I’ve come out here, [and it's] to talk to you.”

Do you think that a public, Dr. Phil-style intervention is the best way to help someone who is struggling with a drug addiction? Or do you think that Jael’s family should have staged a private intervention with a real, licensed psychologist? Let us know in the comments.
