‘X Factor’ Day Two: Judges ‘Feeling Good’ Over Nina Simone Classic (VIDEO)

Day Two of X Factor brought the usual attractive yet tone-deaf singers, but also some sweet sounding surprises. One of these performers was Carly Rose Sonneclar who wowed judges with her “old soul.” The 13-year-old singer performed the classic tune Feeling Good, made famous by Nina Simone.

Demi Lovato said she was “obsessed” with Carly’s talent, while Spears called her a “little diva.”

The second day also proved that Lovato may be the nicest of the four judges, or the Paula Abdul of X Factor. Demi had lots of compliments for singers, but the positive feedback was for their appearance rather than their singing abilities.

“You’re cute and you’re working those eyes right now,” Demi told one attractive male singer. “You’re not a great singer, but I admire your six-pack,” comments Demi to yet another easy-on-the-eyes performer.

Singer and rapper Johnny Maxwell, 16, had a whole lotta charisma with the tune All These People. Britney Spears said the performer was “fun to watch” and “adorably cute.” However, the standouts for the night were Carly Rose Sonneclar and Jason Brock, 34, who sang New York State of Mind.

And the night wouldn’t be complete without a fan professing their love for one of the judges. Patrick Ford, a 20-year-old performer, came on the show with a bouquet of flowers for Britney Spears. Flattery will get you everywhere, but not in this case. The judges decided not to bring Ford on to the next round.

Live episodes of X Factor begins airing in November.
