Chad Johnson Takes Plea Deal, Anger Management Classes

Chad Johnson probably won’t be going to jail… and he definitely will be getting help.

According to TMZ, Johnson has struck a plea deal with prosecutors in the domestic violence case brought against him by ex-wife Evelyn Lozada. While the deal hasn’t been approved by a judge yet, it should be set in stone tomorrow. Sources close to the ex-NFL player say that Chad the deal includes probation, a no-contact order with his ex, and “complete extensive” anger management counseling.

Johnson has already gotten a head-start (sorry, that was a pretty tasteless pun) on his anger management classes, announcing on Inside the NFL today that he takes full responsibility for the alleged head-butting incident and that he’s ready to start learning how to control his anger.

“I gotta work on Chad. Chad’s gotta work on Chad,” explained Chad. “I’m trying to find out how can I channel my anger when I’m in situations where I would pop off.”

He also said that the experience of being charged with misdemeanor battery and being divorced by his wife has humbled him and given him the motivation to work hard and get his old life back.

While we shouldn’t be too quick to assume that Chad’s words weren’t just calculated to make him look good to the press, it is impressive that he publicly took full responsibility for the incident. Stay tuned…
