Is Amanda Bynes in Denial?
Amanda Bynes speaks out for the first time about her DUI arrest to People magazine, kinda. The retired actress is clearly in denial about her problems. She goes as far as saying that she is “doing amazing.”
“I am doing amazing… I am retired as an actor. I am moving to New York to launch my career. I am going to do a fashion line. I am not talking about being arrested for DUI because I don’t drink, and I don’t drink and drive. It is all false.”
People notes that Bynes was polite and respectful during their phone conversation, but sources portray a different story. “People around Amanda are really concerned about her. She tells people she doesn’t party or drink. She doesn’t realize she has a problem.”
In April, Bynes was arrested for a DUI after sideswiping a police car in West Hollywood. She later tweeted to President Obama to fire the cop. Since then she’s been in multiple car accidents and was photographed smoking a ‘weed pipe’ inside her vehicle. Her car was finally impounded after many incidences of her driving around with a suspended license.
She retired from acting in June 2010 and says she’s doing fine, but sources say her agents have asked her to get help. Bynes has refused.
