Avalanna Routh, AKA “Mrs. Bieber”, Dies at Age 6
A little girl who once got mock-married to Justin Bieber has died. 6-year-old Avalanna Routh, who called herself “Mrs. Bieber”, passed away this morning after a long battle with a rare form of brain cancer.
Avalanna was diagnosed with an atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor when she was just 18 months old. The girl spent much of her life in the Dana-Farber/Children’s Hospital Cancer Center, where the staff once threw her a Justin Bieber themed party featuring a fake wedding cake and a shirt that said ‘Future Mrs. Bieber’. After her family set up a Facebook page called ‘Get Avalanna to Meet Justin Bieber’, Avalanna ended getting to hang out with her hero several times. The two even got mock-married, to Avalanna’s delight.
Avalanna also met Jessica Biel, who called the girl her “hero”.
“Our darling Avalanna went to Heaven this morning,” wrote her family on Avalanna’s Twitter page. “Oh Avalanna, the brightest star – you took our hearts with you, our greatest Love.”
Justin has also Tweeted about Avalanna’s death:
“just got the worst news ever. one of the greatest spirits i have ever known is gone. please pray for her family and for her. RIP Avalanna. i love you.”
